Mixed media sculpture catalog

2010-Current

My odyssey into the realm of sculpture began with the orbs – delicate spheres resonating with layered stories and intricate emotions. Yet, as with every passionate artist, my appetite for exploration nudged me towards newer avenues. The medium of plaster opened up a world filled with intimate possibilities. By casting facial busts of friends and family, I wasn’t just capturing their visage, but encapsulating a moment, an emotion, a memory.

Each cast, while preserving the distinct features of its muse, also became an open canvas for my artistry. Through meticulous carving and manipulation, faces transformed, echoing the duality of human nature — the face we show the world, and the myriad feelings that reside beneath. These sculptures, while evoking realism, also ventured into abstract realms, perfectly integrating with my other creations.

My sculpture process is an ever-evolving dance between material and imagination. It’s about seeking the soul within the form, about pushing boundaries of perception, and continually rediscovering the multifaceted essence of humanity. In each plaster face, in every carved detail, I find a universe of stories waiting to be told. My most recent work for Rainbow Rave allowed me to explore new avenues for sculpture, as seen in the large form “RR”, created for their most recent event. Here marine poly foam and resin have made their way into the varied materials I use in my creations.
